The Office

I love that show. It makes me laugh. Andy was a great character to add. I miss Pam being in the office, but it is funny that Ryan is answering phones. They should show more of Kevin. And when is Toby coming back. Kelly certainly cracks me up. That is all I have to say about that for now. Maybe I'll wear my office t-shirt to sleep in tonight.

bangs

so, I was eleven years old, it was a week before my cousin's wedding. And my lovely sister cut my bangs. She cut them so short all they would do was stick straight up. Just what a sixth-grader needs in her life.

To this day my sister blames me, says I had my head bent down too far. I'm sorry, but even if I had my head bent all the way down I should at least still have some bangs.

grrrr. obviously i'm still bitter.

Commercials

With DVR/TiVo, does anyone ever watch commercials any more?

DVR was the best thing that ever happened to parents. There is no way I'd ever be able to watch anything with one kid, let alone three!
here are some stats I found on the net.

According to a joint study released
by the Association of National Advertisers and Forrester Research,
nearly
70% of advertisers said they believe digital video recorders (DVRs) and
video-on-demand (VOD) will reduce or destroy the effectiveness of
traditional
30-second commercials.
Also, 78% of advertisers said
television advertising
has become less effective over the past few years.
The study found that when
DVR usage reaches 30 million households in the
U.S., expected within three
years, almost 60% of advertisers say they will
spend less on conventional TV
advertising; of those, 24% will cut their TV
budgets by at least
25%.
Regarding how budgets will be reallocated, 80%
of advertisers said they
will spend more on Web advertising, and 68% will
use search engine marketing, the survey found.

The Downside of Kids (they're still great though)

Okay, I love my kiddos more than anything... but I thought of something that should definately be considered before you have your own little ones.

There is a downside--at times.

Sure, sleeping in is gone. Going out to bars is gone. Keeping in touch with your friends--gone. But... I realized a new downside today, and its major. I no longer get to lick the spoon after making brownies.

When my very excited little girl said to me "mommy can I lick the spoon" as we were measuring out the ingredients for our dessert... I.... I..... I said yes. I mean, how can I not? She's 3, I'm 31! But licking the spoon is the best part!!!!

Nothing Spectacular, but fun nonetheless

first of all, "nonetheless" has to be one of the coolest words out there. Its like three words in one.

So I couldn't think of anything big to put on this page. So I thought I'd amuse you with some history about me. While the other kids were off playing softball and soccer as kids, do you know what I did? I was on a jump rope team. Its true. The heartbeats. I even marched in the 4th of July parade (I held the banner). I'll totally get my mom to scan a picture of me in uniform to enhance your entertainment!

Born to Run

The Born to Run album has to be one of the best albums ever made. With such great ones as Thunder Road, Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, Backstreets, and Jungleland I could listen to it over and over. I'll highlight some of my favorite lines in this one, I'll just close my eyes and see it played live. The house lights on, the crowd going crazy. Everyone knows these words.

Born to Run
Born to Run 1975

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin' out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
'Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions

Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rimsand strap your hands across my engines
Together we could break this trap
We'll run till we drop, baby we'll never go back
Will you walk with me out on the wire
'Cause baby I'm just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta find out how it feels
I want to know if love is wild
girl I want to know if love is real
Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you Wendy on the streets tonight
In an everlasting kiss

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
but there's no place left to hide
Together Wendy we'll live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul

Someday girl I don't know when
we're gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go
and we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like usbaby we were born to run
